His ability to weave a tale was so convincing it caused many who heard his radio shows to take it as the complete truth. In the process he orchestrated mass pandemonium in the United States and to a lesser degree elsewhere. Wells was a master at taking what many might embrace as a wonder to dream about and showing us a much darker side to this vision of fantasy. Considered a literary genius H.G.
